IKI High Level-Event at COP 27

Stefan Wenzel, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) at the IKI High-Level Event at the World Climate Conference in Egypt (COP 27).

On 11.11.22 the International Climate Initiative (IKI) hosted a successful High Level Event on “Paving the way for climate action at scale”.

Representatives of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) und Foreign Office (AA) launched the new IKI calls for 2022: the new Thematic Call, IKI Medium Grants Call and the soon to open fourth IKI Small Grants Call.

A panel discussion followed with speakers from Brazil, South Africa, EIB and ClimateWorks discussing how a diverse range of actors including development banks, businesses, philantrophies, and public funders can and must leverage climate action – including the contribution the IKI can offer. The evening was concluded with a lot of vibrant networking, surprisingly underlined by some live music from an enthusiastic climate activist.
