An expert jury will decide on the official winners, while the public vote will determine the winner of the IKI Public Choice Award.
The International Climate Initiative (IKI) invited in its 2025 Photo Contest to share your view on climate and biodiversity action in IKI projects – whether you’re a professional photographer or a passionate amateur. With this contest, the IKI aims to bring these stories to life.
The submissions are in – now it’s your turn!
More than 150 photo passionists took part, submitting their personal perspectives on climate and biodiversity action. Until 2 October, you are invited to vote or the entries from the shortlist. Explore 32 outstanding photos and cast your vote. Your choice matters!
Meet the jury!
Alongside the public vote, a jury of experts in IKI, climate and biodiversity action, as well as photography, will evaluate the shortlisted entries. Their combined expertise ensures that both artistic quality and the thematic relevance to IKI projects are reflected in the final selection.
Why this photo competition?
The IKI supports around 400 projects across the globe – ranging from electrifying public transport in Indonesia, to restoring mangrove forests in Mexico, to transitioning to renewable energy in Egypt. Each project tells its own story and makes a tangible contribution to climate and biodiversity action.
The top photos will be displayed at COP30 in Belém. All winners will be featured in a digital exhibition on the IKI website and on social media channels. The top 3 and the winner of the public vote will receive a large-format print of their photo. All four top photographers will also receive an exclusive IKI-branded photo notebook.
