The International Climate Initiative (IKI) has published a new call for funding. The Federal Environment Ministry is seeking ideas for two bilateral programmes with India as part of its country-specific selection procedure. The ideas should support the country in the implementation of its own Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), the National Biodiversity Strategy (NBSAP) and the objectives of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the areas of afforestation and energy storage. A total of EUR 35 million is available for the selection procedure. The ideas competition will be coordinated and implemented by the IKI Secretariat.
Application procedures and deadlines
Programme outlines can be submitted in English on the IKI online platform from now until 4 November 2019 (midnight, CET).
The programmes should be designed for an implementation period of seven years and carried out by a consortium of more than two organisations. Applications may be submitted by federal organisations, non-governmental organisations, business enterprises, universities and research institutions at home and abroad, as well as by international and multilateral organisations such as development banks and United Nations agencies. Interested organisations must prove that they possess a strong network of local partners. 50 percent of the funding will go to local, national implementing organisations.
